New York City
International Dragon & Lion Dance Festival

Dragon Lion poster

CFMAC partnered up with NYFK to host the first New York International Dragon and Lion Dance Festival in December 2017. The Festival is celebrated in multiple cities around the world to promote the culture of the Dances, Martial Arts and tourism. In New York, this event brings together over 15 Lion/ Dragon Dance and Martial Arts groups to perform their demonstrations and routines. The Festival is held in a public park in Chinatown and is free for all to come watch.

In 2017 the Festival was hosted on the last week of December to happen coherently with the other cities around the world. Due to the unfriendly climate of NYC’s winter, we decided on moving the Festival to August to align with August Moon celebrations the following years. Even though we are moving the event to an early date, we still hold the International Dragon and Lion Dance Festival’s name and flag to honor the purpose of promoting Dragon Dance, Lion Dance, Martial Arts and Tourism to Chinatown!

Feel free to contact us for entry requests and sponsorship opportunities.
